#003 Thinking Co-Workers Are Friends And Family- NOT
I wonder how many people make this mistake, thinking co-workers are friends and family, and in the process get seriously hurt by it.
Our co-workers are NOT friends, unless that friendship is nurtured and exists outside of the working arena. Our company is never like “family”, and we (or they) only fool ourselves if we allow ourselves to think that way.
I have seen this with my own family, I have read this (Lee Iaccoca, his first book) and, I have experienced it myself.
Now, I have developed friendships from co-worker associates, but, the key here is: DEVELOPED INTO FRIENDSHIP.
Don’t be hurt by assumed relationships: follow your heart and not what you want to believe. If you can keep it in perspective, if you can keep it real, you won’t be hurt one day.
99% of the time, friendships by association disappear when the “association” is no longer present.
